Product Description Waterproof to up to 10m*** shockproof to falls of up to 2m** and freezeproof down to as low as -10°C the 14 Megapixel µ TOUGH-8010 has a range of new functions to help you capture the excitement. A versatile 5x wide optical zoom (28-140mm*) ensures great group photos or close-ups of distant subjects. In addition every move can be recorded with the HD movie function or integrated into a slideshow and then viewed comfortably on a TV set connected via HDMI. And by using Photo Surfing to select and look at pictures of anything from an afternoon on the sailboat to a child's birthday there's no longer any need to tediously click through the whole library. This is possible thanks to Olympus' [ib] technology. The new image browsing software allows pictures to be tagged by face with Face Recognition technology by place (with GPS) or by event. The tagged images can then be surfed through on the camera's LCD on a computer or a television.----What's more the µ TOUGH-8010 offers plenty of space for all those special moments: aside from an impressive 2GB of internal memory respectively an SD card slot is sure to be useful. The In-Camera Manual on the other hand makes navigating the cameras and finding out how to operate certain functions a breeze. Tap Control has also been improved and now allows scrolling by tilting the camera body in addition to control through taps on the casing perfect for gloved hands. Underwater fans will appreciate knowing where they are going with LED illumination. They can also get a feel for where they are with µ TOUGH-8010's manometer. Of course a variety of trusted Olympus features from Magic Filters and Beauty Mode to i-Auto AF Tracking and Dual Image Stabilisation are also on board to make sure you don't miss that perfect shot.------Features:....

| Customer Reviews: Brilliant!!! August 10, 2010 Mr. C. D. Bott (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I brought this camera off the back of an older version being recommended by a friend. I brought it purposely before my summer holiday so everyone could have fun with it, messing about in the pool, etc.
Delivery of the camera was very quick, ordered it one night, was delivered following day.
In a nutshell, this camera hasn't let me down. The internal memory is a great feature that to my knowledge many cameras do not have. The use of it being waterproof added a completely different dimension to messing about it the pool, taking photos/videos of each other jumping in, etc.
Overall, very very happy with it and can't wait to use it in other activities! And would recommend it to anyone who does any water sports.
A big improvement but still quite slow April 1, 2010 Daniel C. Goldemberg 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This digital camera is amazing. It is called tough for a reason. Easy to use, straightforward, amazing to take pictures underwater. Quality of images have improved a lot since last Olympus tough cameras, HD record is also unbelievable! Another negative point, though, is the ib software from Olympus. It doesn't work for Mac OS and I would always have problems with my PC running Windows XP about not recognizing the camera. End of story, I had to uninstall it and use the standard Windows transfer method, which works fine. An awful attempt of Olympus to try and make something as cool as Picasa in the end.
Zooming lets it down August 31, 2010 Samo2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been to Sharm in Egypt several times as I love snorkelling and I bought this camera as a replacement to Vivita underwater camera. I used the new camera last week and I reviewed the photos last night and I was very impressed of the quality specially the high speed photos shooting function even underwater. I found that zoom while underwater is a bit fiddly and slow which made capturing fast moving fish much harder I ended up avoiding the use of the zoom underwater.
Video quality is fantastic in the pool and in the sea too one thing you should watch out for is you must steady your hands while videoing in the sea.
Using this camera outside the water is as good as any compact camera, it is very good and fast and is has nice features such as panoramic photo shooting (stitching pictures). I usually use a good quality SLR digital camera but occasionally I opted out for this one due to its size and quality.
As far as toughness, The camera had few knocks in the sea against coral reefs and rocks and came on the top.
