This web camera does what you need from a webcam...video with decent sound. It is reasonable well constructed (although mine had a rather nasty incident with a Landrover...still works though). It integrates seemlessly with Skype and Messenger which is all I need. You can make perfectly good phone calls through Skype too just by using the built in mic. Why spend more for silly features like changing your face for a fish (VX3000 I think). The mount is suitable for laptops, LCD screens and CRT monitors.

I bought this camera to replace my lousy Labtec one. Seeing the words 'Microsoft' in the title of this product i immediately expected good qulity, and this was totally fulfilled. It is very good quality and works well with video conferencing (MSN etc) and the way it fits onto the monitor (LCD or CRT) is so useful and avoids the unnecessary hassle of blu-tacing it to the monitor. However, the one pointless feature of the webcam is the 'Video Call' button. This seems to solve a prolbme invented solely by Microsoft that never normally occurs; when this button is pressed MSN is opened and your are asked to chose who to video call. Seems rather pointless to me.

One of my friend in France had it and decided to buy me one for my bday so I received this webcam as a gift (August 07) - still perfectly working of course. Then my boyfriend tried it and decided to buy the same for him and one for his mum in Australia (Feb 08). Last week, I bought one for my parents (Nov 08). So yes, definitely we are fan! Really good value for money. The image is good quality, a microphone is incorporated. Easy to use.

It's small, stylish and sturdy, it installs right away and it integrates seemlessy with Windows Live Messenger. Great Value for money, I don't know why anyone would spend extra on a VX3000/6000.

This is the first webcam I have ever bought or even used, but as it was a Microsoft product and at a good price I went for it. I have used Microsoft peripherals before, and always found them to be of good quality and very effective. This camera is no exception - it is pretty basic, but does all that it claims very well. The picture quality is good, as attested by those on the other end of Skype, and the sound also is excellent from the imperceptible built-in mike. The setting up was transparently easy, and the software allows for detailed tuning of the picture for best quality in the circumstances in which you are using it. I can't think of anything more I could wish for in a simple webcam. I am going to get a second one for my other PC.
